Rapid Arnis:
Rapid Arnis was set up in 1993 by
2 of Europe's leading Filipino martial artists
Pat O'Malley and John Harvey.
The art gained the reputation of
Europe's leading authentic Filipino martial art and in 2000 was
renamed Rapid Arnis International, which is now lead by Tuhon Pat
O'Malley.
Rapid Arnis covers most if
not all of the Filipino styles such as Arnis, Eskrima (also spelt
Escrima), Eskrido, Kali, Doce Pares and incorporates other styles like Muay Thai, Boxing, Silat, JKD and various Lock and Joint manipulation
techniques.
Rapid Arnis also covers empty
hands defence techniques against weapons such as: Knives, Swords, Sticks and other
various weapons types, which makes this art ideal for people wishing to
learn an effective form of self defence or study as a new art.
Filipino Self Defence was created
in 2007 by Scott Marshall.
The art incorporates styles from
Rapid Arnis such as Eskrima, Eskrido, Arnis, Kali and Doce
Pares.
As well as these Filipino Arts
there is also a blend of other arts including: Muay Thai, Aikido,
Boxing, Street Self
Defence, Military Self Defence, Locks / Restraints and limited Grappling.
Filipino Self Defence also teaches empty hands techniques
for defence against numerous weapons types i.e. Knives, Sticks, Swords, Kubotans and
others and like Rapid Arnis is ideal for anyone seeking to learn Self
Defence or study a Martial Art which is different from the norm.
